Located in the heart of Paris, between the narrow streets of the Sentier district, Tissu Market fabric store and the famous Italian brand Valentino join forces for a responsible and ethical fashion approach with their new collaboration called “Sleeping Stock”.
This collaboration aims to use the leftover fabrics from Valentino's Haute Couture and Ready-to-Wear collection creatively and responsibly with the Parisian fabric seller. Franck Lellouche, the founder of Tissu Market, states that there is a deep meaning and a shared belief at the root of this initiative, and describes his creative processes as follows:“The pursuit of excellence and engagement in the creative process are some of the core values we share. And we believe these values will guide the next steps of this unique partnership.”
Precious materials such as chiffon, taffeta, giant satins, floral-patterned fabrics, silk and sweeping lace, and examples of superior craftsmanship were kept in the Valentino archives, never to be used again, but can now be reused by opera, theater, film professionals and other fashion designers thanks to this collaboration. This process will also help prevent CO2 emissions from the production of new fabrics.
This important step is a historic step for Valentino, the first fashion house to transparently make its unused stocks accessible to individuals, and we can even call it a new springboard for their creativity.
