Grammy record holder young singer Billie Eilish, who has recently come to the fore with her new boyfriend Jesse Ruherford, said that she hated her body in her teenage years.
In an interview with Vogue magazine, American singer and songwriter Billie Eilish made candid statements about growing up under the spotlight and being the focus of her entire world at a young age. “I spent my teenage years hating myself,” the 21-year-old singer said.
The Grammy-winning singer said, “Most of that hatred was due to anger at my body. "I hated the sadness my body caused and what I had lost because of it," she said.
The singer, who suffered some injuries at the age of 13, was diagnosed with hypermobility due to weak and inadequate connective tissues, causing joints and skin to be more flexible than normal.
Stating that her body resisted her for years and had to fight with her discomfort, the singer said, “It took time for me to realize that my body is actually me. He wasn't actually fighting me,” she said.
